How one business has found success following attendance at international trade event BlasCymru/TasteWales

Following attendance at BlasCymru/TasteWales in 2019, vegetarian and vegan company The Parsnipship has secured a deal to get three of its products into 27 Booths stores across the North West of England.

Presence at the international food and drink trade event at the Celtic Manor Resort in March 2019 meant that Flo Ticehurst from The Parsnipship was able to meet with a Booths buyer which initiated the contract.

“We can’t wait to introduce our Beetroot Bomb, Glamorgan Crumble and Stilton & Spinach Potato Cake to Booths’ customers. It is our mission to get more people to discover the joys of vegetarian and vegan food and we’re so pleased Booths are helping us do this.”

“We were introduced to a representative of Booths at BlasCymru/TasteWales in 2019 and everything developed from that initial meeting. It was an amazing event… having the industry together under one roof. It gave me the opportunity to network, and speak with different buyers. I would recommend any food and drink business to attend the event.”

The company have also achieved SALSA standards, a recognised food safety certification which demonstrates products are produced in a safe and legal manner, with assistance from Zero2Five Food Industry Centre which has certainly helped them be in a position to be able to supply to Booths.

Following on from the huge success of BlasCymru/TasteWales event in 2019, the 2021 conference and exhibition, taking place 26-27 October will be the third edition of Wales’s international food and drink trade event. Bringing together producers, buyers and food industry professionals from across the globe to the International Convention Centre Wales at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.

Among a packed programme of activity will be a high-level food and drink conference that will feature sessions looking at a number of issues affecting sustainability, as the industry and Welsh Government work collaboratively to create a green future that the nation can be proud of.
