Here at Llaeth Y Llan / Village Dairy we manufacture award-winning yogurt for our own brand, private label, foodservice and B2B.
Still based on the family farm in the North Wales countryside, our dairy was originally established back in the 1980s as a means to diversify the farm and add value to the milk being produced there. With a by-product of skim milk following the separation process, owners Gareth and Falmai educated themselves in the art of yogurt-making and in 1985 Llaeth Y Llan Yogurt was born.
Our family-run business offers a unique provenance with its location, using locally sourced milk from Red Tractor-assured farms, and the brand’s ethos is simple: local, tasty and honest, and we are always striving to deliver the best in dairy products through our quality, taste and use of local ingredients. We are proud to have won many Great Taste Awards with our highest quality and innovation.
In 2016 the dairy went through a period of expansion, investing £6m in a new state-of-the-art facility, this modern, linear production facility allowing us to grow our business in both our brand and private label, and we have recently retained a BRC AA grade. We have strengthened our Management and NPD team, with experience to launch market-leading products in terms of quality and taste for retailers and brands looking to stand out.
We now supply all major retailers throughout Wales, as well as convenience stores, foodservice, public procurement, hotels and guesthouses. Our yogurt really is a must for any Welsh breakfast table.
